HOW MUCH DO LIFEGUARDS GET PAID IN ​CANADA?
On average lifeguards in Canada get paid $18-22 per hour. ​However, your exact pay will vary ​depending on your employer and location.
WHAT IS THE COST OF THE NATIONAL LIFEGUARD MULTI-COURSE?
The cost is $ 2 , 5 0 0 per person. Includes 3 homestyle meals a day for 8 full days. Secure location with provided shared tent space or bring your own personal tent. Outdoor camping amenities with WIFI in the main lodge.
WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE MY STANDARD ​FIRST AID/CPR-C?
That’s okay! You can still register—as long as you successfully complete your Standard First Aid and submit proof before the training begins.
WHAT IF I BRING MY OWN MEALS? CAN I ​GET A DISCOUNT?
No. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of the intensive 8 ​day lifeguard program we do not provide a discount on ​the fee. But you are more than welcomed to bring a ​cooler of your favorite foods to be stored in your tent.
IF I AM GETTING FUNDING FOR MY TRAINING DO YOU OFFER SUPPORT?
We are able to supply letters of support, a list of benefits and skills this program provides, prompt invoices and more to help you secure funding. We are a small business that requires payment upon attendance and cannot make exceptions.
WHAT DO I NEED TO PREPARE FOR THE ​LIFEGUARD TRAINING PROGRAM?
All candidates will be prepared for their exam throughout ​the course but you may want to prepare yourself for the ​physical requirements of the course by training ​beforehand. You can view more of the testing ​requirements by visiting ​https://www.lifesavingsociety.com/
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ​STANDARD FIRST AID/CPR AND ​STANDARD FIRST AID/CPR-C?
This level of CPR training combines skills from both CPR ​Level A and Level B courses, thus allowing you to treat ​both adult and child/infant emergencies.
CAN I RE-CERTIFY AFTER MY NL HAS ​EXPIRED?
Yes, you can re-certify your National Lifeguard ​certification at any point even after it has expired.
AM I TOO OLD TO BECOME A LIFEGUARD?
There are no age limits for candidates who want to become a lifeguard. Although, Strong swimming skills are a must.
WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE MY BRONZE ​MEDALLION OR BRONZE CROSS?

WHAT IF I FAIL MY NL EXAM?
Due to regulations set by the Lifesaving Society, unsuccessful Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, and/or National Lifeguard candidates are required to retake the program from the beginning of their last successfully completed level.
I LIVE IN ANOTHER PROVINCE OR ​TERRITORY OUTSIDE OF ONTARIO, WILL ​THIS CERTIFICATION BE VALID?
Yes. As long as the candidate possesses a valid address ​the ​certificate is accepted Nation-wide.
IS IT EASY TO FIND A LIFEGUARD JOB IN ​CAN​ADA?
Depending on your area and preferences, there is always a need for national lifeguards, while certified lifeguards are especially in high demand for seasonal work in the summer camp industry.
